Wow...things are a little slow moving in here today. Hi Spy, Ghost, R1, 05, and everyone else. I piped up earlier, then had to take off and go out on the road....and am about to run out and grab lunch to bring back. I just have some bad timing.

as you may rememebr i used to play rugby at a high level... well i went and worked out with the local team last night - i thought i was in descent shape till we started running - damn i'm old... but after all the knee and ankle surgery i've had i was still faster than most of the backs... man i miss playing...

Just take your time and get back into it. Apparently our coach thought that our fitness level is less than what he desires, so last night's practice pretty rough. It hurts to type. I've had to go to the restroom for at least a half hour, but am dreading the painfull walk down the hall . . .
BTW, did you see the pics I posted from this weekend's game?

yep i'm alil sore this morning and my ego was totally demolished... i used to have world calss speed in the 40 and the 100 now i'm just "kinda quick" but i'm also 30lbs heavier so no more playiong in the back line now it's time to join the pack as flanker

yep i'm alil sore this morning and my ego was totally demolished... i used to have world calss speed in the 40 and the 100 now i'm just "kinda quick" but i'm also 30lbs heavier so no more playiong in the back line now it's time to join the pack as flanker

In my early 30's I was able to walk onto the field knowing I was more than likely the fastest guy on the pitch. Now, I'm "pretty quick for an old guy". I can't keep up with the fast boys anymore, but I can still out run the pack. We have some amazing speed on our team. When they really turn it on, they just pull away.
This past weekend one of our speedsters broke through the line and was headed for the line. It took everything I had to stay close enough to get a pass from him. When all was said and done, I looked back and there was no one there. Good thing for me he was cutting across the field (away from the fullback) and I was going straight up the field otherwise he would have been on his own.

i can so relate - i was clocked at 4.3 in the 40 when i was a fast guy
and i've run down guys that were suppossed to be the fastest and last night for the first time ever - i got run down - so demoralizing....
