Default Air Force question:

My old friend from high school is in the Air Force and is currently in Afghanistan. I got an email from his this morning, and he gave me his address if I wanted to send him a letter. He has an SV and I figured I'd put some stuff together for him. I was thinking a lot of bike mags, some motorcycle DVD's, but I am asking for some ideas as to what else I should send him. I don't know anything about the Air Force and what it's like over there so I'm not sure what else would be nice to have. Anyone have ideas or can at least tell me what it's like on an Air Force base over there?

Some porn, playboy, and lotion. He'll be very popular lol. Though, maybe some candy bars or maybe a book or something to pass the time.

Don't know about your friend specifically, but usually air force bases in combat areas are well behind OUR lines and quite safe. The AF seems to take good care of their forces around the world. If he's into bikes, your ideas sound good. Whatever else comes to mind that he would want from the states that may be hard to get over there.

Any kind of junk food would suffice. Also, not sure if its legal, but throw in a bottle of Jim Beam. A case of Chef-boy-ardee(or however the hell you spell it). You guys have no idea how good this stuff tastes after eating shitty MRE's and field chow for days on end. Lots of tobacco in case he is a smoker or chewer.
Gatorade powder and kool-aid. That's all I can think of right now.

My buddys in Iraq sell porn to the locals for some big bucks.

They hate America but love our white women!

Yeah I knew he was safe in the base, but he was telling me he hasn't had a beer in months, unfortunately he told me I can't send alcohol. I just figured he'd be bored and missing some amenities from the states.

My friends told me that they would have their familes mail him a case of water and a few of the bottles would be filled with Vondka.
