I think my wife is cheating on me :(
I've suspected for some time now that my wife is cheating.
The usual signs... Phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she says, "Just some friends from work. You don't know them."
I always stay awake to look for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car driving off as if she got out around the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi?
I once picked up her mobile phone just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and asked why I was checking up on her.
Anyway, I have never breached the subject with her. She is one of the most important things in my life! I think deep down I didn't want to know the truth but last night again she went out and I decided to really check in on her.
I decided that I was going to park my motorcycle next to the garage and hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she comes home. It was at that moment crouching behind my bike, that I noticed the rocker cover on the engine leaking a little oil.
Is this something that I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer? I need your help guys.
REPOST, dude someone JUST fucking posted this!!!! lol
its true. but its still a funny joke....

Then the story reveals the cheating wife scenario, setting the reader on a false path. It's the changeup that makes it funny -- much funnier because it fits into the subject line setup though not the reader assumption.
There really is a science to it, with well-defined theories of comedy.
For instance, one of the hallmarks of comedy is repitition. Recurring punchlines with different setups always get a laugh. The famous "Who's on First" is the classic exploitation of the recurring punchline.
However one thing is sure true. There is seldom anything funny about a joke theory explanation. ;-)
BTW, if you want to read more, there is only one funny book about comedy theory. It's "Why Funny is Funny!" by that great old sitcom writing team (from the earliest days of TV) Dewey, Cheatum and Howe.
LOL SBN Ball Breaking...I think that should be a new olympic sport!

Damn, I was falling for this shite too...There is an Issac Asimov story about a group of scientists who discover that jokes and humor is really just a type of behavioral test. Once it was discovered nothing was funny anymore. Jim's description of comedic setup made me think of it.
