On-Duty State Trooper Convicted Of Rape
Jury Delivers Guilty Verdict On Three Counts
BOSTON -- A Massachusetts State Police officer was convicted on Friday of three counts of rape while he was on duty in Cambridge last year, the Middlesex District Attorney's office said.
Prosecutors said Daniel Grant, 42, of Holbrook, threatened to plant drugs on a 26-year-old woman unless she complied with his demands for sex in the Jan. 20, 2006, incident. He had denied the charges.
Authorities said Grant, in uniform with a gun and a badge, approached a parked car in which the woman and a man were sitting. Grant ran a check on the car's license plate and a criminal check on the man, who he discovered had an outstanding arrest warrant and criminal cases pending in court.
He offered the man a small amount of cash and told him to leave, prosecutors said, and told the woman she was with a "bad guy" and that he did her a favor.
Grant showed her a bag that appeared to contain cocaine, prosecutors said, and told her: "This could very easily be yours." He then allegedly asked her if she wanted to spend time in the state's prison for women.
Grant told the woman to follow him in her car, prosecutors said, and led her to a state-owned building in Cambridge, where he sexually assaulted her three times.
Well he has two strikes in prison, 1 sex offender, 2 a cop. I hope they put him in general population. Shit bags like that don't deserve the honor of being a cop!!

I can almost guarantee that it wasn't his first time doing some crap like that and the general pop will return the favor. I doubt they'd put him in gen pop though...

Thats where he belongs. Let the inmates beat him lifeless. There should be no special treatment for him.
They won't put a cop in general pop. He goes into protective custody in the prison, but general pop is where is belongs!

Yes cops like that deserve to rot in jail. Isn't it nice the 750rider has found YET another good-hearted story about a police officer being bad...
unfortunately bad news is interesting news, havent noticed his other posts but if they are all specifically about crooked cops then i see your point here
this guy is scum and gives good cops a bad name, hope they throw the book at him
^ I agree he his is scum, but it is worse when they are cops. The public holds cops to a higher standard, we are entrusted with things no one else is and when you have people that abuse that trust it makes it harder for the rest of us.

He just happens to be a cop. He would be a scum bag if he was a veterinarian, shoe salesman, or whatever.
It just proves that bad people become cops as well. The general attitude on this forum seems to be cops are the holy grail of society. IMO, they are just people. The good, the bad and the ugly.

I can't stand Police Officers crying "waaaa waaaa waaaa, The bad cops make me look bad, waaaa..."
Guess what "good cops" you had an opportunity to stop them!
I always find it amusing how the "good cops" can work side by side with these "bad cops" everyday and not notice anything wrong until it's too late.
If you don't want the bad cops to make you look bad, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Don't cry when the general public hates you.
This situation, like most other Police Misconduct situations, could have been prevented had his coworkers (comrades) done something.
