I've never done it before. And I'm pretty sure I can go without it for the rest of my life.

There's GOTTA be better things to do with my time and money than smoking week.

Legalize it? Hell, I don't care, as long as they tax the shit out of it.

Life is weird enough...weed makes television commercials last 5 days for me...makes me taste the very base chemicals they put in foods..

Don't smoke it..but hope you enjoy.

People smoke weed for the same reasons they drink beer, except you never see someone grow "pot-muscles", or someone die of a weed overdose. People driving intoxicated on alcohol tend to swerve in and out, go too fast, and crash into things... People high on weed will see a stopsign and creep to a halt taking 30 seconds...

I've tried it like most people, but I don't consider myself a smoker by any means. I don't see any reason why it's illegal.

I will agree there.

Alcohol...is just about the worst drug in the world and it's legal.

You can buy it everywhere...practically...then when they sell you too much...and you drink too much...slam..in the tank.

They should ban all drugs imo...except real drugs...made by real labs and companies.

i think it should be legalized, its no different than alcohol. as soon as they figure out a way to field test a person to see if they are driving under the influence it should be legalized. i go through phases, ill buy some that lasts me a few weeks then i wont buy it again for a few months. or if i go on vacation ill get some to take. i just dont see the big deal with it and why its such a crime. god forbid people have a substance that makes them happy and laugh alot. the govn is starting to chill out about it a lil though, in 11 states possession of a small amount is only punishable by a ticket and in most others only a small fine and a little community service. im sure if its ever legalized it will be taxed 200% and people will still buy it from their usual.

I think we should legalize it....Something like 25 billion dollars has been spent fighting the "drug war" since it's conception....Something like 18 million imprisoned people in that same time period.....you'd think instead of fighting a loosing "war" on pot, the gov't. would use that money for something useful...Then as stated above, tx the hell out of store bought joints, and kill the deficit....but hey, what do I know, I'm just a a citizen....

No point? Do you realize how many people's livings are protected by the prohibition of marijuana? You legalize or even lessen the crimes for marijuana and you would force millions of Americans to find a different career.

That would take funding away from a lot of powerful people.

Theres no point in having alcohol, or tobacco legal either. Or sportbikes. Or porn. Or bad words on television.

I understand your point, and it's well taken, but you're leaving out a big part of the equation. The U.S. economy is, in a large part, built upon marijuana prohibition. This isn't so with the other vices you mentioned. You're talking about a radical change in domestic policy.

You think 9/11 affected the economy by changing expectations? The economy would take a hit, perhaps one it couldn't recover from, if such a radical policy change was made. I'm not speaking to the ethical or legal considerations of such a policy change; you can justify that to yourself whatever way you wish. People need stability in a consumer-based capitalist economy as complex as ours; radical changes in policy, even ones for the better, often create more problems than they intend to solve.
