Today was a good day
Well today was a good day.
I mentioned about a month ago that I quit my job. Today I accepted a new job that I will start on March 12. That is a good thing. Since getting out of the Army I've had two jobs that were not really what I wanted to be doing. This job is not exactly ideal but is a stepping stone towards upward mobility. It will be a career change and with that I was expecting a pay cut. Lucky me it actually pays between 15%-20% more base salary (40hrs a week) than my last job (50-70 hrs/week) with the potential of almost a 50% increase with incentives.
I also finished one college class tonignt and will complete one tomorrow morning. After this, two more classes will be done by April 19 and then I graduate.
Life is good.

good day for me today too (sort of - not stealing your thunder, but adding to the positive energy).
i'm active duty navy and i was told today that i am listed for another C school. this is the one i've been wanting since coming back in to the navy. i thought i'd have to wait until i got orders to negotiate the school, but my chief put my name in when he didn't have to.
congrats its stories like these that i like to hear. I hope i am never in a situation to have to do what you did, but if i wanted to change careers it makes me realize it is feasible
