Thumbs up A Mazda Miata - the Way They Should Have Made It!

Miata's are fun cars to drive but don't have much power. This Miata doesn't suffer from a lack of power!

It's supposed to be a good swap since the weight of the V-8 doesn't affect the cars handling much. I bet it's a blast to drive with the 8 in it!

from what i remember theyve been doing that since they first introduced the miata. back then they called them MONSTER MIATAS and had a car club for them.

^^^ I got no idea how long they been doing Miatas.... big engines in little cars have been around since day one of the automobile.

check out www.wrongmotor.com cool site about Mazda RX7's with LS-1's in them. Some very clean installs that look like they came from the factory that way.

Your domestic fanboy-ism disgusts me sometimes KH. Otherwise I think you're cool but damn lay off GM's dick for at least 5 minutes!

Because every other car is better for less money. Why spend 30k for a 14 second roadster and then pump another 5-6k for the blower just so it can be enjoyable.

S2k= overpriced miata.

Also, how often do you get to spend time above 6K on the street. I remember when my mom brought her car in for service (06' Honda Pilot) and I had to follow her so she could have a ride back. The salesman thought he could get me to test drive a S2k. First of all I'm 6'3 Secondly GM for life and lastly I told him that if he could beat the car I already drive I would buy it that day.

Walked out side and pointed to my car.......needless to say his smile turned upside down. Sorry Honda....if I want a sportscar I'll go for an ICON, not some souped up rice bucket.

P.S-S2ks are HIGHLY overrated.....30K for the car and 6K for the blower......or 30K for the C5/Z06 vette and 6K in mods=450+hp

You know there's a whole lot about performance other than the 1/4 mile. S2K is NOT a drag racing car, it is by far one the nicest handling cars around and on the 30k range not many come even close.

i spend A LOT of time over 6K on the streets....that comment makes no sense...6K in first gear is 20mph....and a 30K vette isn't much vette....maybe a beat on c4...

i've driven every corvette ever produced (C1-c6) and i like most of them. most of my track experience is in an r9g c4 baker car and a rocketsports c5. i appreciate the raw hp (~800) but when you're on a track (especially certain tracks) it's the handling and braking that mean the most. I can't even remember how many ferraris, corvettes, stis, evos, and mustangs I've embarassed at the track......

Hence why I mention a C5 Z06......because its in the same price range AND 1g+ on the skidpad.

What i meant was outside of first and second gear.....maybe even third (if you're lucky) when are you going to go the full length of the RPM range in a S2k.

the first one is bound to be a 5.0 ford with that distrubitor cap in front huh?

I knew that someone had a kit for the miata that used a 5.0, but I thought there was a lot to it, radiator, and atleast a new front springs to handle the extra weight, trans, and rearend... Best thing the miata ever had going for it was the rear wheel drive.
