Default Should SBN have a Music sub forum

I for one do, I love music in all its forms.
So if you agree, please vote, if not, go to hell.

My opinion - there are thousands of community music portal sites for people to discuss any and all things musical. People come to a sportbike messageboard and expect to find sportbike content. You can always post music-related items in the Open Forum.

There are thousands of SOFT PORN sites too, but SBN has two of those. One for girls and one for guys.

Yap, and I think that's out of control, too. You only need a single "Open Forum", a hodge-podge of miscellanous content. Everything else should be motorcycle related.

Your points are quite valid, and I agree that this is a sportbike forum.

That being said, the Addmin. felt it nessary to add little features called sub-forums for the members enjoyment. Always remember, you don't have to visit a particular forum if the content therein is not of your intrest.

Grant it music has nothing to do with sporbikes, neither do movies. The point is, the majority of the members ride or rode and we all love sex, movies, riding,.......................... and music.

Therefore a music sub-forum sould be considered.

I agree with Wraith.

There's already too many damn sub forums on the site. It's hard to find what you're looking for if it's off topic related.

Thats a tough thing to say........navagation on this site is quite easy.
Once again, we have sub-forums for Avatars and Sig.'s (should be eliminated if nothing to do with bikes), Auto (NOTHING to do with bikes), Comedy (again, NOTHING to do with bikes), Dating, Marriage, and Sex Life (NOTHING to do with bikes).........................

The whole point is, even though this site may be "cluttered", these are "sub-forums" for the members that love this site such as I to use at our pleasure.

I'm not trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, I just think a forum for music is a good thing.

If Admin. feels it necessary to deem this a "No Go", then that will quickly put an end to my suggestion.

If you're not trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, why do you keep saying the same things to each response against the music forum??

I'm against it. That's all. All the point making you can come up with isn't going to change my opinion on the issue, so if you feel it necessary to validate your idea to everyone that disagrees with you, feel free, but you're not changing my mind.

And if site navigation is so easy, why do so many posts have to be moved by moderators?? One of the reasons is because there's so many damn forums, it's difficult to tell where exactly a post should go.

An example of this would be, there is a "Movie Reviews" forum. Now, do ONLY reviews go there, or do you post about upcoming movies in there as well?? Movies that aren't coming out for several more months aren't getting reviewed, so do you not post it in there because it's NOT a review, or do you post it in there because it has to do with a movie??

Here's an idea.

How about, instead of adding a "Music" forum, we just suggest that they change the "Movie Reviews" section to a "Entertainment" section. That way, the forum could have music, movies, TV, video games, DVDs, concerts...the works. It would be a way to clear up the Off Topic room, but not have a bunch of silly little subforums dedicated to a very specific thing.

There again as you have pointed out, SBN even has an arcade section to play lil games, I'm just wanting a small sub forum to discuss music.

NOW, I am not trying to change anything about you bro. , its just an opinion that I think would work. You have made your vote, and it was no, so be it..................now let the others vote.

Like I said, if not, go to hell.

I used to run a small web community...we had a bunch of forums for things like "Movies," "TV," "Music," "Video Games," and "Electronics."

The site was geared towards cars, so I deemed that it was just too vague and too many forums. Each one had very few posts in it. So I took them all and merged them into one bigger subforum. We called it "Entertainment." In the description, we told everyone that it was where to post about movies, music, tv, video games, or crazy electronic stuff (like $50,000 dollar TVs). That subforum started getting quite a bit more replies and traffic that way.

Granted, you have to set up a bit of a system so that people know what the thread is about before they click on it. A simple "code" system in the title of the thread works.

CDREV for a CD review
CDPREV for a CD preview.
MovRev for a movie review.
MovPrev for a movie preview.
TV for anything related to TV.

And so on. But on our forums, the title limit was quite a few characters less than it is here, so we'll probably not have to worry about as many "codes" here, you'd just put "Movie Preview: Aliens vs. Predator" and call it all good...
