Default Gear & Seatbelts, What do you wear?

I am just curious who wears their seatbelt in their cage since wearing gear is a very sensitive issue on this board (as well it should be!) To me someone that preaches over and over to wear your gear while riding but then does not wear their seatbelt in the cage is somewhat hypocritical. For me I always wear both gear and seatbelt. When I was younger (about 2-3 years ago) I didn't wear either one. Luckily I didn't need to learn the hard way like most people. I just got a little older and a little wiser I guess. Good thing too because I rolled my truck 3 months ago and wearing the seatbelt probably saved my life!!

(The term "gear" has kind of an open definition. By gear I am mainly talking about the helmet. I usaully wear helmet, leather jacket, and gloves at least.)

I never used to wear a seatbelt, then I had kids. I couldn't very well preach to them that they had to wear their seatbelts if I didn't wear mine. Parenting is role modeling. So now I don't even think about it anymore.
It's funny because the kids get very upset with their father because he doesn't wear his....he forces them to wear theirs but won't wear one himself. He doesn't wear a helmet either.....oh well, good thing I divorced him!!!!

seems I'm with the rest. I wear both. There have been occasions that I've gone to the store with out a helmet on, but it felt funky and I didn't like that "unprotected" feeling <~ sounds like a tampon commercial..

I never wore a seatbelt when I was younger. Then I had a wreck at 16 and one at 18. Both times, I hit and cracked the windshield with my head. I always wear my seatbelt now.

When I was living in Arkansas, which doesn't have a helmet law, I would occasionally ride a mile to the gas station without a helmet, but that's the extent of that. I never bothered with a leather jacket until I dumped my bike doing 45 and got road rash on my elbow. Now I usually wear full gear including gloves, full suit, and riding boots.

I'm the type that doesn't think anything about safety equipment until I get hurt. But I'm smart enough to learn once something happens.

Not wearing a seatbelt is pure idiocy.

Both always. I would feel to uncomfortable if I didn't.

It's ridiculous, but it's the same in Wisconsin....since we have Harley Davidson here I doubt that will ever change....

I wear my gear but I dont wear my seatbelt. Call me stupid, I dont give a shit. I hate a seatbelt, it makes me feel confined.

So yeah watch out for me, no seat belt wearing, cell phone talking, SUV driving fool.,and I slump down in my seat and lean to one side, and I dont use my blinker. I hate people like me, they piss me off. Oh well.

Bump.

I always wear both. Why not? There's a reason why belts are installed in motor vehicles. If you're risk adverse you'll wear both, IMO.
