Bowl season recap (long post)
Hey all...just wanted to express my opinions on the past bowl season. Yes, I know the season is over and yes, I know that "expert" analysis is offered elsewhere, but I seemed to have a favorable response to these posts during the season, so I thought I'd offer a little something to lift the fog off of the non-riding season. Enjoy!!
New Orleans Bowl: Southern Miss is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Champs Sports: I'm a Big East man (grew up in Connecticut), so naturally I wanted the 'Cuse to win this one for the conference. Good Lord this was embarrassing.
GMAC: Yawnnnn....
Fort Worth: Yawnnn, again....
Las Vegas: Who the hell is Wyoming?
Hawaii: Yup, Chang showed us how it's done.
MPC Computers: Wow, what a finish!! Easily one of the most dramatic plays of the year.
Motor City: My Huskies have this recurring theme: we're undefeated in championship play. Seriously, every time a team from UConn plays in a championship, we win. Men's basketball? 2-0 in NCAA Championship games. Ladies' basketball? 5-0. And now we add football to that illustrious list. GO HUSKIES!!
Independence: Whatever...
Insight: OSU showed why they nearly beat USC.
Houston: Nice W for the Big 12, and I'm guessing a good way to lick your wounds after suffering that beatdown against OU in the Big 12 Championship.
Alamo: Ouch. I thought my girlfriends' alma mater (Okie St.) would show the nation why it nearly trumped OU. I thought wrong.
Continental Tire: Were it not for the ACC's commish whining to the folks at Continental Tire about having an incoming ACC member (BC) play an existing one (or the fact the BC choked BIG time against Syracuse in their season ender), my Huskies would be playing here. Oh well, good win for the Big East and a good way to end the year.
Emerald: Good win for the Midshipmen of Annapolis. Is military academy football showing signs of actually competing at D-1A ball?
Holiday: Easily the biggest upset of the year. Tell me again why Cal should've been in the Rose Bowl?
Silicon Valley: Blah, blah, blah...
Music City: Good win for the Big Ten.
Sun: Fittingly, the Sun Devils win the bowl that shares a name with an Arizona trademark. Way to pick up the slack after playing without your star QB, 'Devils!!
Outback: What happened, Wisconsin? Didja get on the second half of your schedule and just say, "We give up!" ?
Gator: Good to see the 'Noles playing to their old standards again.
Capitol One: The play of the year. Excellent game besides that heart-stopper of a pass.
Rose: Fire Jim Hermann NOW!! As a casual UM fan, I couldn't believe the lack of tackling by Michigan. The best Rose Bowl we've seen in years!
Fiesta: What a sham. Who didn't see this one coming?
Sugar: Man, what a letdown. I thought that Auburn was gonna post up a larger score than this, but what can ya say? AU proved why they have arguably the best defensive unit in the country.
Orange: Justice. Is. Served. FIGHT ON!!!

Laws without enforcement are like NYC speed limits: a good suggestion.

150% with ya on this one. Unfortunately, being as Young plays in the Big12, who here thinks he has a shot at it with Adrian Peterson returning? Honestly, now...
Who are your picks for next year's Heisman?
Mine are:
Vince Young
Adrian Peterson
Reggie Bush
Matt Leinart (IF he returns)
Mike Hart/Chad Henne (darkhorse picks)
