Finally got my house....
I turned 21 in June and have been trying to get my house. I finally got it this past week and can I say I hate moving. I just wanted to tell everybody because I have worked so hard to finally be able to do this. Now onto the fun....

Congrats! I remember buying my first house... hated moving, but it was so worth it, especially knowing it was MINE, and I was going to be there for a long time.
Good job on hittin that goal, especially at your age (I was 22).

I take it you don't have a fixed?
Yeah, the joys of homeownership about about to start... and they can get expensive! In the first year of owning mine, did new fencing, new roof, paint, blah blah blah... it's all worth it in the end, but can add up quickly in the beginning.

luckily they just did all the fencing, carpet, and paint before i moved in.... i decided that i wasn't going to throw my money away on an apartment anymore. Plus i wanted to have a backyard like this one, and of course a garage for my bike and toys... instead of mom and dads

Nah I bought the house brand new, so for the first year my taxes were assessed on "undeveloped land", and only ended up being like 300 a year. So my mortgage company projected thats what they would be for the following year, well when the year rolled over they ended up under charging me like 3000 in escrow, so I have to pay them that 3000 over the course of the next year in addition to what my mortgage payment would be with my new increased escrow amount.
It's partially my fault because I didn't correlate when I saw my property tax come in that it was that much higher than what i had paid the year before, but at the same time this was my first new house so i didnt know that the original escrow was that low and it would go up that dramatically. I thought the mortgage company would re-evaluate my taxes at the beginning of each year adjusting for things like that so that they wouldn't under charge me. My previous house the taxes went up a small amount each year just because the property was gaining value, but never anything this dramatic.

Nice house! Congrats. And like everyone else pointed out, be carefull, the 1st year can get expensive really quick. I just had my 1st house built about 2 years ago & I'm still trying to "fill it out".

Congrats Ray K! That's awesome that you have your own house at 21. Hell, when I was 21 I could barely afford to get drunk!
