Does anyone know somewhere local that carries Sidi boots? I'd like to try on the Vertigo. I checked and cyclegears webpage doesn't have Sidi.
Anyone have this boot or previous experience with Sidi boots? I'm looking for an all out track boot that is <$300. Any other boot recommendations will be appreciated.
Also, I'm looking to buy some leathers (1 piece). Preferrably not Alpinestars since I had them before and didn't like the way they fit. I prob need a 44/46 so if anyone has used ones for sale let me know.
I have some sidi's, can't remember the size (think 45 or 46). Purchased them a few years ago now, the same model is still available and they are now called the B-2, think they were called the vertebra's back then.
Overall I'm happy with them, the vertebra system squeaks now and then when you walk but they are pretty comfortable for boots. If you are stepping up to Vertigo's I would get the air version for the additional ventilation.
You also may want to check out Oxtar's (very similar to Sidi's but cheaper price) or Alpinestars S-MX range. I don’t know of any place locally that carries a wide selection of boots.
Yeah, when I rock them with my jeans my pant leg is outside the boots. Unless I'm riding to work or running a quick errand on the bike I'm typically wearing my boots.
I would highly recommend the Sidi Vertigo Air which is their perforated boot. They really work and it is what I ride with on the street and the track. They retail for $275.
MVrider, where did you buy yours? I'd like to be able to try some on before I buy. Also, do your feet get cold if you ride in cooler temps? I've never really had my feet get hot but they've been freezing quite a few times when riding, which makes me shy away from the Vertigo Air.
I almost bought Sidis, but it bothered me that they use synthetic leather and not real leather. For the prices they charge, they should be using real leather. I like boots to form to my foot, not the other way around.
I'm not even remotely saying Sidi is an inferior product. The boots are obviously nice. But I just feel like for the prices they charge, leather would be nice. I've seen the Tepor material after it drags the road, and it's my opnion that it doesn't hold up nearly as well as leather does.
I have sidi's that I've worn just about every day for the past year. They do break in, but it takes a while. Mine aren't spacey track boots, though. FWIW, I would buy sidi again and I will probably get these re-soled at some point.

Good luck. You won't find any locally....I've looked. At best, you MIGHT find one pair on a shelf somewhere. Nobody stocks them. I honestly think one shop has ONE pair. The few places that do carry boots carry A*....and they don't keep much in stock ether. CycleGear has a crap selection of boots as well. Your best bet, is to go to a bicycle shop, and try on Sidi cycling shoes....see if you can detect a pattern in what fits you best, or order based on that....I'm not kidding.
NewEnough.com - didn't try them on. If you do find a semi-local place that carries sidi, I'd love to know about it.

Just go with some high top Reeboks. They are sold everywhere.
