I can't quite classify the one I saw this weekend... When you do a trackday, that obviously goes a long way towards NOT being a squid. Being in the Intermediate group does too.
But when you leave the little "I" sticker on your windscreen until it's clearly weathered... ummmm...
"Show-off" squid?
Anyway, GREAT reading, that was really entertaining. "I think your truck smells like it's running too rich. Wanna fuck?"

i am going to say something that is going to piss a lot of people on this forum off. if you are an hyper-sensitive cry baby, then stop reading right here.
so here it is:
no gear= no responsibility= no need to be on a bike.
if you dont realize the danger that you face EVERY TIME you get on that bike by now (and i dont care if it is only a 1 mile trip), then you are not learning from other's hard lessons; a.k.a. EXPERIENCE. and those who dont learn only drive up my insurance premiums.
but if you are such a hot dog and nothing can touch you, then ride on, squid. i really dont care. just make sure you've got good health insurance to pay for those skin graphs. why? because it's not a matter of "if", its a matter of "when".
ride smart and safe, or dont ride at all. the rest of us are paying for your extra chromosome!
oh btw, my last bike was a gsxr and so will be my next.
I'm saying that when I've been out riding and met other guys n sportbikes, i have never met one that wasn't a total squid, except at deal's gap, which has few squids
To be fair, this is really difficult to argue with, since he's describing his personal experience with the world. However limited it may be, it's going to shape his world view more than anything else. If I had to pick one bike model that was most likely to have a squid on it, I would probably say GSXR600. :-) Of course, being a squid is a combination of (overpowered) bike / (lack of) experience, and (lack of) gear. Any 600cc 4 cylinder hoss in the hands of an inexperienced rider is likely to cause problems. I wear pretty much ATGATT, but still ride like a fucktard once in a while.
