Made the Move Here, Now I Need a Bike

Ok, so I made the move from Miami original thread a couple weeks ago. Still looking for a house, which I hope will come to an end soon. It's all we've done since we got here, with the exception of working, and I'm ready for it to be over.

Also, the week before I moved here I high-sided my 929 and cracked the lower crankcase cover. Rather than investing the money to resurrect my poor 7 year old bike with over 68,000 miles on her, I think it's time to face the music and get a new one.

Which brings about my next question... which shop (Honda) do you guys recommend? I stopped by one on 15/501 randomly and was less than pleased with the pricing. If I can get my hands on an '07 1000RR for <$11K, including assembly/destination/documentation/bs fees, I'll buy it up here. Otherwise, it makes more sense for me to run down to the dealership I've worked with for years in FL and buy one. Obviously not the most convenient of solutions, so hopefully I can find one here through your recommendations and build up a new business relationship.

Once I'm back on 2 wheels, I'll have to meet up with you guys for lunch/weekend rides. Hopefully before then too, if you can stand to hang around someone that temporarily needs 4 wheels to get around.

how much do u want for that 929? i might take it off ur hands..can the crack be jb welded

Heh, actually it's more like "there's 3/4" of my crankcase missing" than it is a crack.

And, of course, the missing metal is what needs to make the seal with the stator cover so it needs to be the right height and smooth.

I work at the Cycle Gear in Raleigh and we are close to the Team Powersports dealership in Garner and the people who work there have always been nice when they come up by us. I have no idea about pricing but they seem like good folks. They are off Hwy 70 just before I-40 as you head south. Might be worth checking them out.

Go to Team Power Sports in Garner. There sales and service has been great for me for the last several years. Better yet they will come wy down in price if you take it easy on them and have your cash and financing ready.
