I just had to say how FUCKING much this thread sucks. You don't have to post stupid crap like this. I mean it BFD you saw a crash. It wasn't you and Its pretty obvoius he isnt a SBN member so What exsactly is your point? That an old guy cut him off. Really dude you need to post something worth while. Let me quote you the forum rules.
"If you don't have a bike, don't ever plan on getting a bike, and have nothing to say about bikes, please don't post here. Once we determine that pattern, we'll just start deleting your posts. Take it to Yahoo! chat or something. This ain't the place for you, and people like you were part of the reason that SBN purged its ranks... "

So all of the other seemingly useless threads in the NC forum should cease to exist as well? There are a lot of threads that the regulars post b/c stuff is funny or serious. The NC forum is like a mini SBN except it doesn't have it's own "open forum" section. By the title, if you didn't want to read about that, you weren't deceived as to what the thread is about. So get off your high horse and let us new riders post about what we saw and how we tried to help this kid out by sticking around to talk to the police.
FYI I called 911 as soon as I rolled up (like 15-20 seconds after impact), so why can't we post about this? We tried to help this kid and you really don't FUCKING care?

worthless without pics? wtf would a picture do? its not like you would magically see the crash if you had a pic of the bike/rider on the ground. the driver pulled out of the road after the crash, and the bike was moved. i am simply explaining what happened to make others aware and make them think about the situation. it is good that u stopped to help that guy out though. i think some people should really research a little more before committing to buying a bike. its a dangerous sport and isnt for everyone.
ugh if a car pulls out in front of u and u dont have time to stop or swerve... ur pretty much PWNED in the face. Picts are good to have in any situation.
wait bikes are dangerous i musta missed that memo in the mail

If the earlier posts are correct, the rider high sided in an emergency stop from 30-45 mph. I think it is possible to avoid getting pwned. To be fair though, I wasn't there, so I can't really say I wouldn't have done the same thing.
And about the pics... It's harsh to say this thread is worthless without pics, but it is a great idea to have a camera on the bike at all times. A disposable camera is great for when it comes time to talk to the insurance company or a lawyer.

Hanya, you’re my hero with that phone. Next time maybe the story could have just been embellished a bit. Then maybe it could have gone like this and it wouldn’t be so “senseless...”
Today was my birthday & I decided to go for a ride on my bike anybody who knows me knows that I don't take it out much anymore, because I just prefer to be on the race track instead. As I was leaving, I almost didn't take my phone with me because I couldn't find it & then something just told me that I couldn't leave until I found it because you never know if you'll need it. I was irritated with myself & running around my house fully dressed in leathers & my helmet on while trying to find my darn phone. I was hot, uncomfortable & just wanted to get on my bike & go! Why didn't I just let myself leave without it? I couldn't. So I searched until I finally found it - in my car. Do you ever just get those weird feelings & feel like things happen for a reason?
Well during my ride, I fell behind a group of 6 or 7 bikes that I later found out had rode up from Holly Springs and were on their way back home. Right when I got behind them, I thought to myself "I don't really have time to stay & play because my b-day party was starting in an hour, but just a few more minutes!". Another one of those weird questions....Why did I decide to stay, even though I knew I was going to be late if I did? I was behind them for only about 4 or 5 miles just staying somewhat mellow because I did not know them or their riding style. I was riding a good distance behind the last person in their group. Not really joining them completely, but still there. When all of a sudden, I came around the corner & the leaders bike was scattered in literally 50 pieces and there were skid marks on the side of the road from where he had lost control in the corner. The wheels on his bike were still spinning. You could see skid marks where he had tried to get control back but he couldn't and the old guy in his car just sat there. You could also see on the edge of the road where his bike hit a pile of dirt & launched. When the bike impacted the side of the car, it threw the guy back down into the middle of the road. At that moment, I knew that my deciding to stay out for just a couple minutes longer was a decision that happened for a reason. God did not let me leave the house without my phone for a reason. Out of 6 or 7 people that had stopped, my phone was the only one that could get any service. Without a 911 call, this guy would not have had a chance at all. I called 911 and they sent an ambulance on it's way. The guy was in really bad shape & was not regaining consciousness. We knew we were not supposed to move him, but after we hung up from 911, he started choking on his blood. I called 911 again & put them on speaker phone & the lady instructed us on how to safely roll him over on his side so that he could breathe more easily, otherwise he would have drowned before help arrived. I can not tell you what it was like standing there and watching this poor guy fight for his life & not being able to do anything more to help him. He was in really bad shape. I will spare you the details but he had so many injuries that nobody should ever have to witness it. I can't believe I held myself together. I always thought I would lose it if I saw something really bad like that, but it's good to know that I didn't. All I was thinking is that he was only 18 or 19 & his parent's were somewhere back East that none of his friends knew who to call & they don't even know their child is fighting for his life. What were they doing at that moment while he was lying there? How horrible would that be to get that phone call or be the one to make it? The paramedics stayed there and worked on him in the middle of the road for about an hour because he was in too bad of shape to move while I, his friends & and a few other passers-by that had stopped to help were standing only a few feet away watching in hopes that we would hear them say something positive. The never got him conscious & they had to drain his lungs right there in front of us & help him breathe with a pump (I don't know what the medical term is for all this stuff). Long story short, they didn't think he was going to make it. Part of me doesn't want to post this bulletin because it's not something people really want to hear about but I'm only telling everyone all this because I want people to realize that this stuff does happen & it can happen to any of us at any time.
If he does make it, I am of course not trying to take any credit at all for being there with my phone but just think about it.......I really think that sometimes God put us in certain places at certain times for a reason. WHY do we make certain choices & WHY do we sometimes get that "FEELING" to do something like not leave without our phone if we can't find it? Or stay out riding for just a couple more miles, even though you know you're going to be late for something else? Why? If I had made a different decision on either of those two things, it would have taken them longer to call for help & could have changed the entire situation completely. There was a reason for me making those choices that I made earlier.
They sent in a helicopter to fly him out & down to the trauma center in Raleigh. I left my email & phone number with a few of his friends & hope that they let me know how he is doing. I can't stop thinking about him & hoping that he makes it. I REALLY hope he pulls through & he will definitely be in my prayers but it is just a very BIG REMINDER to all of us out there that anything can happen at any moment & to PLEASE PLEASE be careful!!! Please say a prayer for him; he really needs all the help that he can get.
Thank you for reading this, I know it is long. I just hope that my telling of this experience either makes someone be a little more careful while riding or makes someone listen to those little feelings you get sometimes. Most importantly, please pray for him.
