Default 2-1 vs Dual Exhaust

What up, I just bought an '07 Ninja 500R... I don't like my stock exhaust. I want it to be louder, sound a little beafyer (if that's even a word). SO, my question is: I'm on the fence between a Muzzy 2-1 exhaust or the slip on Sarachau (or however it's spelled). What say you? Single exhaust is lighter but does it sound as good/better than dual? I also read on a forum that the dual exhaust is a vintage look... and if that's the case then I definately would want to go single. Let me know what you guys think--because I know jack ish about this stuff

It all comes down to personal preference. They will all sound about the same. I have the carbon fiber Sarachu's and I bet they're lighter than any of the singles, but we're only talking about a few pounds so that's a moot argument. With the full systems you would need to re-jet your carbs which is a PITA and some of the systems require that you ditch the center stand and lower fairing. I personally love the way the Sarachu's look and sound, so that's the way I went.

BTW - Congrats on the bike!

Thanks for the congrats man. I love this thing. But yeah, I didn't know about rejeting the carbs and losing the center stand. Looks like i'll be going with the Sarachu's. Thanks man

Sure thing. You should check out ex-500.com, it's much more active than the EX board here. Lots of good people and info.

i have a vance & hines full exhaust. 2-1
it said i would have to lose the centerstand and cut my bottom ferring all up, but i told the guy at the dealershit to "work around them"

some how he got it on, with only cutting off a lil of the bottom ferring, and kept the centerstand.

i cut the pipe inhalf to hear it better, and i love the sound

out of all the 500's ive heard, i think mine sound the best

if you go to youtube.com and type ex500 into the search, and then change it to "most recent to date" on the video search side bar, and look for my video, i think it says "ex 500 v&h shorty exhaust

f-it
ill get you the link brb

I don't see any posts about V&H pipes,I put a V&H on my 05 500R and the complete system is lighter than 1 of the stock mufflers.BTW the V&H lets you keep the centerstand. But you have to do some creative grinding to the lower faring.
