0-60 Time?

Does anyone know how fast the ninja500R is in 0-60mph? I would like to know for the next time I'm next to a viper or 911turbo at a stoplight.

After just a quick search, I'm seeing around ~4 seconds. Someone will chime in I'm sure with a more accurate time.... the 250 looks like about 5.5 seconds. Oh, and BeverlyHillsNinja, there's an ignore button on everyone's post... so when people would rather be smart asses than answer your question, you can use that handy thing..... but on the other hand, no, I wouldn't go racing a 911 or viper with your 500R.

you have to be very good and you'll get about 4.5sec. Yiu have stay in power zone the whole time and shift perfectly to achieve that.

No, im not actually going to try and race vipers. I just think it's cool that a 4,000 dollar bike can out accelerate the majority of 50k+ sports cars.

yeah, i found that some cars can keep up with you for a little bit but when you hit the powerband they're toast. highway acceleration on the 500R whimps out around 150 tho, i found, when passing vehicles

150 kph that is....

250's only run 14 or 15 second 1/4 miles...but like someone else said, the EX-500 will do a 12.8 at 101 mph, in a PERFECT pass, bone stock. To an average rider, this will equate to a low 13 second pass and probably a 5.0-5.5 second 0-60.

My Mustang runs 104 mph traps in the 1/4 but only a best of a 5.3 second 0-60 cause it refuses to launch properly.

Race your average sports cars...but don't go after anything crazy. Or if you do, make sure you're entering the fat spot of the powerband, in the appropriate gear (as numerically low as possible)...so when they romp on it you'll immediately pull before they have a chance to even the acceleration out since cars have much taller gearing than bikes.

Wow 5+ sec 0-60? I was under the impression it was much lower than that... Oh well.

Hey, I bet you I could outrun even a 911 turbo 80% of the time- it's 0-60 is listed as 3.6 but that takes a perfect clutch drop at the right rpm, the right amount of wheelspin followed by a well timed clutch lift, and a complete shift takes longer on a car than a bike gearbox. An average driver could probably do no better than a 4.5 on a 911t. Besides, the average rich guy driving a ferarri, porche, or viper is mostly concerned with image, and has no idea how to use a high performance machine.

Very good point. Every time I've ever seen a viper up at the strip, the driver is always some 55 year old guy trying to live vicariously through his car, and burns his tires half way down the track.

I remember reading the 0-60 time was 3.7

If done perfectly, the porsche 911t would beat you by a hair. You'd still beat the viper.
