Default Bike's security.

I am going to receive my bike in the next couple of days.

MSF course... check
Riding gear... check (mostly, still looking for pants with a decent inseam length)
Motorcycle... on its way

The next obvious things for me to get are frame sliders and a security device.

Does anyone know of any good frame sliders for an '08 250R?

Also, while looking for a security device, I found this one. It makes sense to me that you have a locking device with a built-in alarm sound, for the obvious reasons that you can take that to any bike (that fits) without having to install/uninstall the alarm.

Any thoughts on this? Has anyone used it, or know someone who has?

I have also been looking for extra security. Have you found anything along the lines of an anchor? Something to actually bolt into the cement then run a chain through or lock the rear tire in?

My brother and I both have disc locks and we both still have our bikes. ;)

I am in Dallas and he lives in Pittsburgh, both with decent theft rates I believe. Check with your insurance company to see what products they give discounts for. One company I called didn't give a discount for Lojack since it is theft recovery, not theft prevention, but some others do. Your company may require an actual alarm systems, so just give a call.

But what happens when you go out? You don't expect me to carry around that block of cement, do you?

When I'm out, I'd say an alarm with a pager, plus the Kimber TLE2 .45acp takes care of business.

In the appartments on the other hand, a little googling yielded this little gem... FA DefianceLP

Of course a torch and some patience can still defeat it, but it still screams go steal the R1 two spaces down instead.
