Going to be Using my 250 for Some Touring...
Well, this is probably crazy, but this next spring I'm going to be using my 250 for some touring.
Probably some longer rides and some two-up riding.
I know it can handle two-up riding on the highway, I've done it before...and with the suspension upgrades I'm not worried about going a ways on the road with me and the lady on the back.
It's probably a bit crazy to try using such a small bike for some large trips...but I'm going to give it a try anyways.
I'm looking into possibly getting a bigger, older bike to use for some serious touring...like maybe a ZZR-1200 or an older Concours...but for the time being my 250 will have to work!!!
Wish me luck!!!!

Man, I just found the perfect bike for using as a touring bike on Ebay...it's a Kawasaki ZG-1000 Concours in great shape...only $1299 with buy it now.
Too bad I don't have $1300...

No, my price range for the touring bike is going to be up to about $2.5k...but right now I've got to put all of my extra money towards my wedding and subsequent honeymoon.
Basically, it's the perfect bike, at the absolute opposite of perfect time!!!!

Hey, first off "good luck!" with your touring trip. Sounds like a blast, no matter what you're on. Second, if you haven't seen this definitely check it out:
I know riding a Rebel around is a bit different from a Ninjette, but it can't be THAT different. I've always wanted to do some touring, but I think I'll wait until I get my 650R.
Let us know how it goes. Oh, and congrats on the wedding!

I don't think you are crazy at all, I have made two long trips on the ninja 250 and I had a blast -- -- certainly had more fun than I did on the 1000, the 1400 or the 636.
On the way up to Michigan from Georgia, I traveled all interstate because I was in a hurry to see my great-grandchild but on the way back I took my time on two-lane roads. I had so much fun, that I immediately started planning another trip. I would recommend the Alaskan butt pad and a box of cornstarch.
