Default ex250 Upshift prob/?

Anyone ever have a problem shifting from 2nd to 3rd? Ok, so when I really get on it and rev the bastard to the 11 to 13 range and try to shift up, sometimes its doesnt go into gear the lever goes up and doesnt go into the next gear. I do preload before a shift at high rpm, but sometimes I have to double kick it(preload let it down then preload again/kick). I went my first group ride today and it happepend alot trying to keep up with bigger bikes. There was a kid there with a 2fiddy and I asked him if it ever happened to him , and he said no. So I was thinking there is something wrong with my bike or my technique. When posting this I was thinking about my technique also. See, I dont really close the throttle very much at all considering the bike isn't very powerful I kinda bang it hard gear to gear at redline. Do I just need to close the throttle more? Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm getting definite weirdness. I'm nowhere near redline, but often it doesn't want to go into usually 6th gear. I think this started immediately after the 500 mile service, but I can't think of why that would be a factor (the manual doesn't mention any kind of tranny adjustments). Not sure if this is related to your problem.

Iv'e found a ghost neutral in between 5th and 6th before every now and then but I think it is a problem with technique. Here is a link where someone who posted a similar thread in General, where I should have posted this one.
Having trouble with the second to third gear shift

Wow, I've had the same occasional ghost neutral problem (not sure about which gear gate, but 5-6 sounds right). Thought I was going bonkers. Will check out that thread.

Thanks,

Yeah, that same thing has happened to me a couple of times, but I thought it was just me not hitting it all the way in gear...
