Sportbike: i have half of a ninja 250
good deal?
Hi, im new here.
the name is Tyler, 17 years old and looking to get a ninja 250. first of all i want one because of insurance, and also because of gas.
heres the deal, my friend has a 1990 ex250 with 11,000 miles in excellent condition. The bad is that it has a blown engine. the side of the block has a good size hole in it. I am very good at mechanical stuff, all i do is work on cars, trucks and build things, so i can fuigure things out well.

I'd have probably passed.
For just about $500 more than that you could've gotten one 10 years newer with a working engine.

I agree on the pass, BUT, since you seem to really enjoy working on things, you wouldn't have the same satisfaction as you will if you end up being able to bring that thing back to life. Sometimes, it's not all about money. To be fair, it usually is, but not always.
Good luck and keep us posted. Be careful out there too!
P.S. you should change your bike description in your sig to "I gotta 250...sort of"
