Default noob question

Question #1 - I'm in first gear with clutch in. I give it a little gas and let out the clutch (just like a normal take off) and the bike stalls. I start the bike up and try to take off and bike stalls again. It did that like 5-6 times and the same thing. I even rev it higher and let the clutch out super slow and it still stalls. Finally I just let the bike idle for awhile in neutral and then I was finally able to take off in 1st w/o the bike stalling. Why is that?

Question #2 - I'm in first gear with clutch in. It stalls when I try to take off. I probably just let off the clutch too fast w/ not enought gas. Unlike question #1, I couldn't start the bike up again. The battery seemed fine but I was not able to start the bike (what are the simptoms that the battery needs replacing?). I thought I flooded the carb so I made sure the carb was completely off (and it was) and I opened up the throtle and tried starting it. Still no go. After sitting on the road for 2-3 minutes. I gave it another try and it started. Is it the battery?

Question #3 - I don't have a manual, are there hazard lights? Where is the switch?

Question 2 and 3 I'm not sure on. Question 1 sounds like you might have to use the choke for a minute or two. GS's are known for being cold-blooded though. You might have to leave the choke on a bit before riding.

Question 1: Like Oni said, the 250's are kinda of cold blooded, does it only do this when you first start riding? If not, you may also not be in first gear like you think. Sometimes the bike has a hard time going into first, especially if you are trying to shift while stopped. You might think you are in 1st, but you actually might be in 2nd.

Question 2: When it won't start, is it cranking but wont's start, or is it just unresponsive? i can give some suggestions depending on you answer.

Question 3: No, the 250 doesn't have hazard lights, so there is no switch. There is a mod you can do to add one, but only if you think its neccesary.
