Default Clutching and starting out

Hey

I just wondered how much throttle you need to give these bikes to get moving at a "normal" pace while slipping the clutch. For example, my bike doesn't like to start rolling below 3,000 rpm, and the chain lashes like crazy when you start below that. A friend of mine wants to know because her Nighthawk in the MSF could get moving fairly quickly with just letting the clutch out slowly and she loved that. She hates the idea of revving the snot out of the bike when starting out. Thanks for the help.

Mike

I have an 05 250 and when i let out on the clutch it starts pulling, very little throttle to get it going. That is why I thought it was so easy to learn to ride.

Hey Mike P, are you on the Late Night message board? I saw your username there. Could be a coincidence

Default Ninja 250R Clutching & Starting Out

I own a 2005 Ninja 250R, and I have to say that the clutch lets out very easy. Tell your friend to gradually let the clutch out until they hit the release point(the rpms will drop and the bike will start to pull), then they can give it a little gas and the bike will go with no problem...
