Question 283 pounds on a Suzuki GW250....

How's it gonna work out? Any input? Ideas? Suggestions? I am 51 and weigh 283 and need something for an 80-mile round trip work commute.: surprise:

Cool

Welcome Fatguy,
Where are you located?
First bike?
Street/Freeway ratio of commute?
Level, hilly or mountainous route?
I suggest 750 cc minimum for your weight. Standard/cruiser depending on your inseam.
Suggest you introduce yourself over on the introduction thread and then visit new riders thread. All kinds of information here to be found using the advanced search at the garage button and specific questions will get specific answers by a experienced, friendly, fellow rider.
Enjoy the bike and forum!

Thanks, Paul! I live in NW Georgia in the USA. This would be my first bike My commute is basic flat all the way, mostly highway with a jump on and off the freeway. I like the V Star 650 cruiser also. Have been told it would handle me easily.

Cool

Excellent choice.
I see your attending MSF also. Also an excellent choice.
I wear a ventilated leather jacket with shoulder, back and elbow armor, over the ankle lace up boots and gauntlet gloves that strap down at the wrist at a minimum.
I use full suits where appropriate.
Suggest wearing ATGATT until first year completed.
I get up and get new bike rather than go to hospital in case of an accident, even after 17 years of riding.
