First Bike, Is this a good deal?
I am looking to purchase my first bike this weekend...
Have been looking at either a GS500F or an SV650S
Saw a few that I am interested in, and was wondering if there prices are good deals..
2005 GS500F w/ 15,500 miles for 2200
2004 GS500F w/ 9000 miles for 2300
2009 GS500F w/ 13000 miles has been dropped a few times 2300 (fairings have been sanded and repainted / engine covers scratched up)
2006 SV650S w/ 13000 for 2600
Seeing as all of these four bikes are in the same price range, Im stuck on which one I should buy.
Any suggestions?

If you're close to Jax come buy this one. I'm ready to move this thing.
1998 Ninja 250
If not, the SV looks like a good deal as long as it's not beat up.

I'm about 3 hours south of Jax..
Think I'm gonna go for the '05 with 15,500.
Owner is a mechanic and has records of all the maintenance done.
Valve adjustment every 4k and Oil change every 3k

The sv is the best deal of those.
And valve adjustment every 4k? That's like 3-4 times as often as it needs to be done. At 15k, it's barely even due for its first adjustment.

I would say for a first bike, sight unseen the 05 is the most promising. Can't go wrong with a GS500 for a first bike. I am over 150k miles on my GS and going strong.

Go for the 06 sv650s, I loved mine! Looks and performance are so much better than the gs500. Owned mine for 23k trouble free miles

I hardly have the highest mileage GS out there. As for racking up the miles, I had a 100 mile commute (round trip) 5 days a week for 3 years. Do the math.

Doing the math That's 156 weeks at 500 miles per week. That's 78,000 miles which is still a shitload but far from 150,000
