Throttle Cable and Other Questions
Working with my first bike and had some questions: I have an '05 GS500F in nearly new condition (under 1,000 miles). when I went to adjust the throttle cable (lever is stiff as hell!) I noticed the adjuster is broken off (lock nut is ok) with most of the threads still in the holder. Is this easily fixed? What's the best way to go about it? If I have to go the mechanic route, what can I expect to pay? Thanks, in advance for the info!

What do you mean by the "lever is stiff"? The throttle cable adjusters are near the ends of part #'s 24 and 25:

Which parts are broken? If it';s the cable end, you might have to replace one of the throttle cables.

Doh!!! I meant clutch cable!
Sorry for all of you who checked out the question and left scratching your head. Take everything I said and apply it to the clutch lever and cable. Are these difficult to replace? How costly if I have to take it in?
Thanks, everyone and again; sorry!

Clutch cables are pretty easy, it's just a matter of seeing what you have to remove to route the cable (typically gas tank, maybe some plastics).

I remember I bought a clutch cable for my 250 for the first time and for some reason I thought it was going to be really expensive, but it was pretty cheap. I was suprised, if its cheap for your bike just get a new one.

Thanks, guys! As I am looking into getting bar risers, I will need to work on the cables anyway.
Any personal experience with bar risers out there?
Thanks, again!

Get the risers first as you may well need longer cables and bar wiring than stock.
