maybe its the fitting?
Were they A* octane short gloves? The carbon fiber knuckle would push into my pointer finger knuckle and leave a mark for a 30+mins after riding. I got some A* gauntlet sp1 and they are much better, used them for a year so far and still going strong.

I can work the controls of my old ipod shuffle with my leather gloves on when its in the inside pocket of my leather jacket. I can find my keys, wallet, and other pocketed objects. I don't see what your problem is.

Are these the gloves you have on?

How many pair did you try on before buying? Try on EVERYTHING you can lay hands on- even if you can't afford it or don't like the color. It never fails that you'll see an awesome deal on a forum if you look long enough.

The feel and fit of any piece of gear is extremely subjective. Icon in my opinion are not comfortable- neither are joe rocket, or shift for the most part. Alpinestars are better- most of them, but they run small. Cortech is all over the place. AGV is okay, but the materials are lesser than in A*.

Gloves will take time to break in. A lot of people say to order a size small enough to be painful, and deal until it's comfortable. I say, that's the reason you see so many threads about "The Gloves are GARBAGE." OF COURSE the seams burst- you crammed your meathooks into too small a glove. But I'm no masochist, and I don't have money to burn. I buy a size that doesn't put undue pressure on my fingertips or thumb, but isn't loose in the palm. I want to wrap my hand around a handlebar, and squeeze the levers without pain. Stiffness is ok- that will wear off.

THE BEST way I've found to break in a glove is to wear it through a rain storm. One or two good soakings where you ride a half hour or more- and don't strip the gloves off and toss them in a corner under dirty socks- is all it takes. Don't put them in a helmet or tankbag- set them on a shelf to dry naturally. Some people complain of leather dye leaching, but I've never had that problem.

I found my GP Plus on another forum for about half price. They were a bit snug and stiff at first, but not painful. Only gripe was the wrist strap didn't sit right. Wore them in the dry a few days and wasn't impressed. Wore them on a misty day and they got better. Wore them in a rainstorm, and after they dried, they fit perfect.

I hate gloves too! Especially crapy ones that give out when they touch the ground. I now wear A* GP Plus and Joe Rocket Speedmaster gloves.

I love my A* SP-1's best glove ever. it took me some getting used to when I started wearing them over my motocross gloves, but they are all there is if you want to keep your hands in a fall.

if they fit right you will get used to them soon enough and you will never be comfortable without them again, some take a while to break in too, I drove my truck with the SP-1's on over the winter once in a while, they felt great once I started riding in the spring.

I still can't use my ipod very well with them and getting my helmet strap on is sometimes a pain, but it is worth it, you need your hands.

This doesn't really seem to be a problem for everyone else so I guess it's just an adjusting phase...but man it's a pain. they take long to put on and off, I can't do anything when they're on, I've tried to put my helmet on after putting the gloves on and that failed. So then I had to take the time to take a glove off then put the damn thing back on again.

I'm just venting and hoping it gets better soon, they really are a pain....

Gloves require alot of thought , I spend hours and hours for perfect fitting glove, it could take months to find.

You bought something that doesnt fit right and is ill performing. It wont change

trash, sell them and regroup

Need to make sure there is no binding with the knuckles or fingers and the thump palm area is snugg.

Maybe you bought them to small. If so, take them back. If their a good size maybe try putting them and dunk your hands in water you'll probably stretch them faster

Wear gloves don't be a fool PLEASE.

I don't see why people are having all these problems. I've ordered my 2 pairs of gloves online from 2 different companies. I have short A* gloves and Tecnic gauntlets. I never tried either on and got the right size the first time and they both fit great.

I don't see why its taken some people hours or months and dozens of pairs of gloves before finding the right ones.

there they are. I'm getting use to them, and they've broken in a little. I'm just starting to wish they were a little tighter on the fingers.

If you're wrists hurt from gloves it could be a sign that the strap is too tight, a common new rider mistake. Well fitting gloves should make riding more comfortable not less, so something is wrong with them I would think.
