New Rider ForumsJust joining the motorcyclist hobbie? Looking to get some information about a first bike? Or have some newbie questions. Are you new to the website?
Wow!
I can't believe you can get one of those for around 3500 NEW!
I seriously can't wait because I thought I'd have to save a lot before I could get one but it looks like I will have one before THIS summer is over!
Woot Woot!
I have a dilema.
My husband is kinds jealous.
He won't have one.
I don't want him to be jealus.
It's just that I've always wanted a bike.
I'm sure he has too but I have the opportunity to get one.
He doesn't.
We're married but I want my OWN bike.
I don't wanna share. LOL

Do any of you chicas have a bie and hubby/boyfriend doesn't have one?
How do you deal?

What do you think of my firt choice of bike?
Hope to meet some nice people here!
I'm from HIlliard, Ohio and was referred by Tony A.
I don't know his screen name but Hi Tony! It's Cara!
That's a great choice of first bike but its unlikely you're going to get your hands on a 2008, probably going to be a 2009 at this point, MSRP $3999. All orders for the 2008 250's that haven't been shipped yet were canceled.
I put a deposit on one in late June and sat around and twiddled my thumbs only to hear that it wasn't going to happen and that I could get on the waiting list for an '09.
Not a prob - if you're set on getting one I would start calling dealers NOW and getting on waiting lists and such. Depending on where you live you'll probably have to branch out and call dealers that might not be local. The closest one I found was over 500 miles away so I would have had to deal with getting it shipped as well. Anyway, I had no idea that these were so popular at first but I have a little perspective now. ;)
It doesn't look like the girl in the video actually rides, her boyfriend probably just taught her to ride in a straight line. Notice her struggling to put the side-stand up, struggling to straighten up the front tire, and constantly looking down.

that is the easiest way to get rashed up, one little blip of the throttle. and the heels make it even more dangerous.

to the OP i know the bike scene seems relatively new to you, but just understand that riding around wearing a bikini top and stiletto's aren't exactly ideal for riding let alone for going to a local bike night. If you are serious about riding then it's best that you get into an MSF course if you haven't already. WEAR FULL GEAR (small scars are cool, but road rash just f*ckin sucks!) and learn to ride properly and safely. It may seem to look all sexy and cool to be this bad ass rider chick but if you don't have the experience and common know how of what riding entails it could really bite you in the end.
At least you didn't start by saying you wanted some 600cc+ sport bike. Looking into the 250 is your best bet, and you will be able to progress a lot faster as long as you take it seriously and know that even the 250 can bite back given the wrong input you give it.

Sportbike: a few...but 2003 RC51 usually
The girl in the first video is pretty hot i guess, but she needs to put some gear on. Guys like leathers. If you really feel like you need to put on a revealing shirt, do is under your jacket, so when you get where you are going, and take off your jacket, it has a much bigger effect. Oh yeah, and don't ride in heels. (i know it's hot, and i use to do it when i rode to go clubbing, but trust me NOT a good idea)
oh, and the 250r is awesome.
and about your husband...my way of looking at it is: screw you, this is what i want to do. But then i'm not married and my boyfriend rides. I guess I've always had the mentality "My bike was here before you, and it will be here after you. Don't make me choose between you and the bike because you WILL lose." I've dated guys who didn't ride and were jealous of how much time i spent riding... obviously that didn't work out

cheers to that mssdrider. I make it known right up front what time it is with my riding. They knew about it when they got into it, so don't start with the funny stuff down the road. nihilists012105.jpg
