Don't take *anything* you read on here personally....SBN is full of leg humpers and arm chair commandos who all date supermodels
My only advice is:
1) WEAR GEAR. There is nothing attractive about skin grafts.
2) Get as much professional instruction as you possibly can. Private, trackdays...whatevrer you can afford, its all worth its weight in gold.
On that front, I recommend the school in my sig, and they book a few days at Mid Ohio (easily one of the greatest tracks for motorcycles in the whole continent) every year and they have their own bikes and leathers for you to use....so there is no excuse not to do a day once you have your license and get the basics down.
Best of luck.
