I've always worried about this when riding. Early mornings or late evenings when the sun is low and it is hard to see down the road in front of you. It's annoying for your own view but it is especially dangerous when it is another driver who is having a hard time seeing YOU on your motorcycle.
So with this in mind I was heading to work a few days ago and the sun was probably a half an hour up over the horizon. I was almost to work and was turning off a two-lane secondary onto a business park street. I had right-of-way in my right turn lane and was keeping a good eye on a car coming the other direction with its left turn signal on. I had a great view of the car because the sun was DIRECTLY behind me. In that split second I decided to slow down to almost a complete stop and wait to see what the car would do. It's a good thing because the car kept going on its turn (remember I had right-of-way). The car made it about 3/4 a way through the turn then slammed on its breaks when it saw me. I had slowed enough to be able to maneuver around it to the right.
I'm pretty sure it would have turned ugly if I hadn't slowed down to see what the car would have done. Be extra diligent friends when the sun is low and to your back while you are riding (for that matter when it's low and directly in front of you too).
That is all.
