I guess you dont know what Im talking about. When I said high speed runs, I was reffering to those who compete to break land speed records. I was saying that high speed runs, drag racing, and road racing require alot of skill. Please make sure you comprehend what Im saying before "thinking" that you know what Im talking about.

OP, you did exactly the right thing by not getting caught up in the "mob mentality". I have never understood the attraction of bike nights and huge groups of riders going out (at night no less) to tear up the highways.

It is too bad about your "friends". It's also better to hang with other riders who ride like you want to ride. Find 2 or 3 and I'll bet they'll be more than happy to ride some chill rides with you.

I went to one a month ago, mostly squids, some good guys, not too horrifying, but way too many squids. That said maybe I'll go to one later, since sometimes crowds change as the summer progresses. I usually don't stay too late anyway.

Bike nights in the evening, at said parking lot meet up = squid magnets

Seriously go ride your own ride and be thankful you weren't behind these d-bags when they wiped out causing you to crash.

I know how you got a bike and you want to feel like riding with other riders, but give it time, you'll find even you want the freedom of just doing your own thing.

hahaha so true. No one buys a sport bike to do the speed limit all the time. 95% (is that right, I can't remember) of sport bikes never hit the track, so they are being used on the street.

Some people use the excuse: "I bought a sport bike because of the acceleration and handling"... well so did I, but there is only so much acceleration until you are speeding (and on a sport bike speeding happens in a blink of an eye). Heck, even the police around here that ride sport bikes break the speed limit, and give us sport bike riders a break when (if) they catch us.

Maybe you should get over your fear and try riding on the freeway so you can see just how "hard" it is. Let me know when you have a whole year of riding experience so you can actually contribute some insight here.

Lately thread after thread in this forum has succumbed to this kind of bullshit. Take it back to the chat thread in the general forum.
