I never expected the main group of bikes to wait around on me or anything but for the few bikes who i am good friends with that said.." we will stay back with you" and then took off like everyone else kinda sucked. Im fine riding alone thats not a problem at all. My only thing was to be told we will stay with you then haul ass knowing I cant and wont drive like that.

The main group taking off isn't your problem, but people telling you they would wait and don't is lame. Ride your own ride and let people do their thing unless you need them to get back.

That is generally the perception, but it isn't always true. Check out the odometers on a lot of those bikes. "Bike Night" people are often the sort of guy that buys a new bike every two years and sells his old one with only a handful of miles. Look how many nicely accessories bikes appear in Craigslist with less than a thousand miles on it. There is absolutely no skill whatsoever required to ride fast on an open freeway.

As far as not staying back with you this guys BOUGHT their bikes as an act of conformity, they aren't guys who are likely to stand out against the group-think.

Ehhh, It does require skill to to ride fast on freeways but its nothing compared to drag racing/road racing

I'm gonna have to disagree with ya on that one. You can sit on a bike without ever have sat on one before and crack the throttle up to 150 in a straight line. Your just along for the ride.

Yeah, on an open road with no traffic/pot holes/objects but most of us live in the real world where the roads arent perfect. If it didnt require any sort of skill, then no one would ever die/wreck lol. But like I said, it doesnt compare to the skill required to drag/road race. You can also throw high speed runs in there. Trying to do over 220 on a bike does require a lot of skill

Hmm sounds like you did the right thing to me. I have gone on a few group rides and bike nights and no one has ever said shit to me about my lil nijette. The only ones that do work at stealerships and want me to buy soemthing bigger.
As for rides, I used to go on group rides now I don't. I always felt bad when they would wait for me, because it wasn't just once or twice, but 5 or 6 times. On a short ride, that makes it into a long wait when you add all those stops together. I'm lucky though in that my club has alot of guys who sport tour and those are the ones that I am learning from now.

Just stick to your guns and ride your own ride, at your own pace and if someone doesn't like it, then
