Question Should I get this bike?

Hey everyone,
I am looking into getting a new bike. I had a 2001 honda cbr 600 f4 for 4 years and then sold it and have not had a bike in 2 years. I have found a 2004 Suzuki gsxr 750 with 18,000 miles on it a slip on carbon fiber exhaust (can't remember the brand), power commander, fresh paint job (the guy who is selling it owns a bike racing shop and bought the bike from one of his female customers who had dropped it and thats why he repainted it-I did not see any signs of damage from an accident) tinted wind screen, flush front turn signals, fender eliminator kit (with no rear turn signals). He is asking $5,000 and will not negotiate any further. My question is if everyone thinks this sounds like a good bike, or should I be worried about the 18,000 and the fresh paint? The guy seemed to be honest and I believed what he told me about the bike- he says that he thinks even though it was a lot of miles he think the woman who owned it was not very hard on the bike. Thanks for the help!!

Price sounds a bit high. But I am cheap.

I'd pass. 18,000 can be alot.... or nothing at all. Considering it has the exhaust and a power commander, I bet this bike has been run pretty hard, so that 18,000 miles is alot. I also don't believe a bike would need to be repainted from a "drop". Sounds like a laid down 750 with 18,000 miles that's probably been beat on....

I don't like the GSXR Very much, but that one looks hot. I wouldn't spend 5gs on it though. I know with cars, a lot of aftermarket stuff isn't always a good thing.

I think it is a fair price for the bike. if the owner of the shop set the bike up, he probably did the wrenching for the maintenance. Ask the seller if he will let a third party mechanic examine the bike for an appraisal

My bike has more than 18K on it and I wouldn't take less than 5K for it
