Default good price on sv650?

I've been looking around for an sv650, new or used, pref. pretty new. What do you guys think of this? Seems kinda expensive to me, even though it is pretty new. Since it's 2007, I would of thought price would be close to around 5.5k or maybe less. Am I dreaming?

I love the color on it though.

Color's nice, but MSRP was (and is) 5999 for a 2007 which the current owner bought as a left-over. These days, you should be able to get a new 2007 from a dealer for 6000 or less OTD (total cost to you including taxes and all fees). Assuming you can find one. Current owner likely paid MSRP plus tax and fees.

Yeah, i thought that was a bit more then it should be. I guess he was trying to recoup money he spent on the motorcycle. Oh well, I'm gonna keep on hunting!

If you like the bike, make an offer and see what he says. Whats the worst that could happen?

I would offer him $5200-$5400. When it comes to motorcycles or cars...once you drive them off the lot they lose a lot in value...so why should he get to ride it for 700 miles then break even(or close to) after selling?

Otherwise there are always tons of SV650s for sale everywhere. Try Bikes For Sale - SVRider Board

Yea keep searching around. Also be sure to try cycletrader.com - I found my 01 on there 3 years ago. Prices tend to be at least at kbb or a little higher here in texas I have found.

Woods there in austin has a 2007 for 5599... you may be able to bargin them down from that.
