Default Cycle endorsement test..How to?

I completely expect to take a bunch of shit about this, but i'm askin anyway. I had a rough time with my first cycle test(foot down too many times), so I've spent hours mastering the cones, the left turn in the box and the controled stop/swerve to miss obsticle...never made it to that one.) My biggest problem right now is making the right hand U turn in a 24' box. Yea, this is my first sportbike and i get the whole "clutch control" thing, but how the hell can you make a slow speed uturn in such a small box? can someone give a hint or suggest a technique to get me on the right track? am i over thinking it? i've tried looking through the turn, but at a slow speed i'm always coming up about a foot and a half short. WTF? I never knew slow speeds were so difficult. should i just sell it and give up?(joke, never give up). I've done this u turn about a hundred times and keep coming up with the same results. If you don't mind, HELP!!?? thanks

Take the MSF Course. They'll teach you everything you need to know, and you'll auto. get your DL (Road test is not needed)

+1 on MSF. If not, try this:

Set your idle up a bit, maybe 1400 so you don't need to worry so much about clutch control.
Drag some rear brake to control speed.
Counter-lean (to the outside) on really slow-speed turns looking WAY through the turn where you want the bike to go.
Practice.
If this doesn't work, go back to the top.

This tip from the instructor helped me when I was doing them at the MSF course. Be in 2nd gear, not 1st.

Take the MSF course. They will teach it to you and you'll get your license.

Enter the box and then slow to a pace that you won't fall over. Hold the clutch in slightly and look through the turn. Hold the clutch the WHOLE time you are in the box, but you should know how much clutch you need depending on the speed you are at. Don't apply throttle until you finish the figure 8 and then your done.

Thanks for the tips ya'll. If I don't pass it this time, I HAVE to take the MSF. I do plan to take the safety course with a few friends(most of the vet riders that think they can learn and reinforce good practice). I'm gonna try the outside lean and do it in second gear to see if any of those combos work for me. I've got lots of time to practice in the church lot, so I'm gonna make sure I can do it with my eyes closed and backwards before i try again. That right hand U is killin me! Thanks again.

I was told the same thing-- it helped me IMMENSELY. I also really really turned and looked... it helped guide me through.

I didnt touch my clutch at all. 2nd gear and dragging the rear brake worked fine for me.
