My new GS! **pics**
I figured I'd post up my bike for the heck of it. I picked up an '06 GS500F last saturday, without a scratch on her. It rides great, I'm really loving it. I have been riding dirtbikes for a good 15 years or so, and finally made the jump to a street bike after graduating college. Since I got it over the weekend I wasn't able to title it, so I just drove it around my driveway, but I really like how it rides. I hope to move up to an F4i or perhaps a larger 2 cylinder over the winter, after a season of riding is in. Here's some pics!
After some recommendations on GSTwins and some reviews, I bought some new tires for it, a Conti Road Attack rear and a Metz Lasertec front. Really looking forward to getting it out on the road!

I just bought my 07 GS, and I'm loving it! Couldn't imagine trying to learn on anything bigger, but I know if I had gotten anything smaller I'd be regretting it. I've put about 250 miles on it in little over a week haha. Enjoy it, I am!

I feel the same way. I've been riding big dirtbikes for a long time, so a 250 road bike would leave me fairly unsatisfied after a while. I think the GS is a perfect fit for me for my first road bike, and it will be a great learner.

Thanks guys! I've got my tires and helmet coming today. Next week I'll be getting my gloves, jacket, backpack (for commute w/ laptop), and front fork springs. Can't wait to get out on the road!

Might I suggest getting a new windscreen? The stock one really sucked for me. I put on a Zero Gravity double bubble and it helped tons! Plus makes it look better too

Very nice! I'll have to look into that definitely after I get the rest of my new stuff on there. I'll have to see how the wind deflection is on the highway for me.

I'm 5'8''ish and with the stock windscreen it was hitting me in the chest/neck area in a normal riding position(not tucked) but with the double bubble it moved up to my helmet, so with a little tuck you're out of the blast for the most part.
