^ Thanks. LOL, no go on the dealer competition thing. I mentioned that in another thread. The dealer that I'm buying the bike from said I could leave it there as long as I'd like as long as it's paid for. They even have a black one sitting there that a guy put a deposit down on and he hasn't been able to get in and buy it. The black is the hottest seller and he said he could've sold that one ten times over by now. So, I don't have to worry about getting the bike home, or having it be the first time I've ever ridden a bike. I'm pretty stoked about that. Hopefully within a month or so I'll be riding.

either leave it there or borrow somebody's truck or trailer and carry it home. I didnt read through all the posts but if youre trying to work the dealer around May-June good luck. Thats their biggest time of the year for sportbike sales so they wont be as willing to work a deal out with you since the demand will be so high.

The deal's already done. I went in early to beat the rush, so I when I wanted the bike it was there. The timing was just going to be iffy since I probably wouldn't have my license by the time the bike came in.

$3966 + tax. 3499 plus the fees you can't really get out of when you're buying a bike that they can't keep in stock.

^ No kidding. I was all ready to fork over 9 large for an SS before I was enlightened. So I'm ecstatic.

Got my permit 2 days ago... I can't wait!

Personally, I would buy used for a first bike, and you might as well start shopping now as they just get pricier as we get into summer. Sure, there is the chance that you will end up hating the whole motorcycle thing and get stuck having to eat some money, but with a used bike you can sell if for close to what you paid. If losing a couple hundred on trying motorcycles in your 20s is the biggest risk you have taken, then consider your life a charmed one.
