New Rider ForumsJust joining the motorcyclist hobbie? Looking to get some information about a first bike? Or have some newbie questions. Are you new to the website?
I posted last week here about my intro into sprot bike riding and one reply suggested I wait a few days and then go back and sit on the bikes again and see which ones felt as good as they did the first time. Well, I did that today. I also brought my digital camera along to take pics of the bikes that are still currently on my potential list and thought I'd post them here to get some more inoptu before I sign my name on the dotted line.
I sat on the Suzuki GS500 as well as the Ninja 500R and also the Suzuki 650. All three bikes felt very comfortable, so I thought I'd toss them out here for input from everyone.
Let me know what ya'' think...

The KAW is the 650R. They just got it in yesterday, that's why it wasn't on my list. I'm wondering if it's too big of a bike for starters though...It was comfortable to sit on though and it seemed to be balanced pretty well.
I also liked the GS500, but the used one they had with 6100 miles seemed a bit pricey to me at just over $3k. I can pick up a new 500 for just under $4k. I dunno..but it seems like some of their used bike prices are good while others are a bit high. Maybe I'm missing something though...
Buy something used, incase you drop it/lay it down. A beginner bike will be easy to resell because there's always new riders looking for bikes, I'm really glad I started on my GS500F, it was a lot of fun to learn on. My dad rides a Kawi 250r and really likes it, my ZX6R is amazing but I'm glad I didn't start on it, just being on 2 wheels is always a blast.
well i guess we know whose advice you should take, that bike is a ZZR600, the 650r has a banana seat.
as for bike, i need to retract my vote, stay away from the bike with the cracked fairing.
Why stay away from the bike with the cracked fairing? The shop is going to replace the fairing. The bike wasn't down, but had a wooden crate fall on it in the warehouse where it was stored over the winter. It was tucked away in the back corner next to a shelving unit and nobody saw it back there. We had to dig the bike out from under the crate to look at it and drag it out in the light.
I also like the Zuki 500 and they have a used one for a little over $3k but it has over 7k miles on it...the mileage is kinda turning me off for that price. I dunno though...so many decisions. That's why I am taking so much advice from you guys and gals here.
The ZZR probably wouldnt be a terrible choice, I guess it would depend on if you plan on keeping this bike for awhile or if you're just trying to get the skills down to buy a bike you really want.
