just got a bike
So after lurkin for a while I went and got myself a bike. 1986 honda nighthawk 700s it has Spec II fairings, exhaust, and corbin seat. Ive only rode it down the street (no gear yet ) but it feels great.

sorry for the noobness but whats "tariff". is it the thing about the crazy tax on any thing over 700cc?

Cool looking bike. lots of gear on closeout right now, you can get a nice jacket leather for 100 dollars right now. no excuses get with it.

It is a 700 because Harley got a huge tariff put on larger bikes to protect it while it regenerated from the AMF misrule. So, Honda built a 700 instead of a 750. I almost bought one of those back when. Yours looks great! I haven't seen a white one before. There are lots of red and black or blue and black ones, but Honda racing red white and blue is a scheme I didn't ever see. Your pictures make it look like a really well kept bike.
So, that's the meaning of a tariff bike.

Yup. I am still fairly new. Just got back into riding a couple years ago.
I almost bought a bike during the tariff for Harley days. When ever I see a 700cc bike I remember being 26 and looking at them, new in the showroom.
I wanted one soooooo bad. Brand new baby girl. I had to pass.

LOL... My ride home was in carharts. Jacket with a couple of sweatshirts under them. Had boots, gloves and helmet.
Folks sling the sh!t around pretty good in here. Thick skin helps.
I would suggest a red, white and blue leather Captain America suit to go with your bike.
Really... If you think about it. Nothing else will do.
