Well ummm ....... Flame suit on**** I started on my tlr and it is known as the widow maker and might be one of the most dangerous bikes out there but i am still alive you just have to ride smart go slow and learn.

IMO you will die doing 60 on a 250 just as fast as 60 on a 1000+ bike

thats really a mute point, the point of starting small is to reduce your chance of seriously hurting yourself buy grabbing too much brake/throttle in panic situations.

true but i have had a few "pull outs" and such that puckerd my butt up but i think the dual disc front brakes helped me out alot better than the tiny 250 brakes would have but i dont know other than a 2000 gsxr 1k this is the only bike i have rid. throttle i can understand because this is a wheelie machine and you really have to try to keep the front down rather then most people trying to get it up on other bikes

Remember, you are still starting -- when did you start riding that bike again? I'm not saying you are going to die, but I am trying to say that it's not credible to claim that it's a good learners platform if you're still only a beginner.

Your theory is flawed. The speed isn't what gets most riders killed. It's panicing. Then having a bike that makes the situation worse when you get on the throttle or brakes hard.

And just because you did it doesn't make it a good idea...

Correct. But I think it's that combined with how fast it get's you into trouble too.

I mean 60mph is 60mph whether on a 250cc or a 600cc. It's just that the 600 gets you there MUCH faster. Those extra 3 seconds or so can be a life saver.

a 1000 is bad enough for a first bike, but stretched, lowered, and obviously has some amount of engine mods on it, what a death wish. although i learned on my bros 1000RR and my bro-in-law's superhawk 996, i still wont move up to a 1k after going thru 2 600's and prolly a few more.

For real? That's not what I heard. What about if it's all chromed out with a sick Shoei frame slider?

Nope. Sorry.
You should have got a 600. We get all the p%ssy.
Sometimes the p%ssy is riding the 600.
Sometimes it's around the 600.
I just want to be where the p%ssy is so it's all good.
