This post was awesome... n00b here taking my MSF course this weekend. I've been lurking around a couple of bike forums for info on how to tackle the whole biking thing. Though this post does include information that can be found elsewhere, it's very nicely put togther, and well worded. Thank you!

I just finished reading this thread and I have to say, this is definitely made me want start small and not rush into things. I already have a change of mind on what bike I should get. I appreciate you takin' the time to write this up for people like me.

A noob who was just told today by a dealer that a 600 is a great starter bike, and Katanas suck.
