Default Good beginners bikes with ABS?

Im disappointed the new 250r doesnt have ABS. I am too afraid that I will lock up the brakes and crash. With that said, are there any good beginners bike with ABS?

Well you need to get over the conception that you will lock things up and crash. Not many bikes come with ABS, the interceptor is the only one that comes to mind.

If you get the proper training and seat time the issue of locking them up will subside. Don't use a false security to overcome your fear.

ABS is not necessary. If you think you're going to lock up the brakes, you don't belong on a bike. With the proper training you'll learn what to do if that happens anyways.

SV650 is the only one with ABS that is close to a beginner bike(it's not one, but closest bike to one that has ABS)

The SV had it for the '07 models also.

I think its been out for about 2 year. Its like a $500 option. For the '08 it only comes on the dark blue one.

If you think you're going to lock up the brakes all the time, then you need to get that out of your head, or stop riding. ABS is a great thing to have on a bike, but you need to stop thinking you'll lock up the brakes!

BMW F650GS comes with it. Althought not the best learner bike, a friend of mine got one as his first bike and seems to be doing fine with it (But he's also a very big guy, so maybe that has something to do with it).

I have never had ABS neither on cars nor bikes...and I have been driving for a long time and never had an accident where ABS could've avoided it.

I would recommend taking the MSF course if you haven't already. I just got done with taking it this weekend, and they teach you what to do if you ever do lock up your breaks. You'll learn the fundamentals you need to know to deal with it if it ever happens. I'm not worried about it now because I've learned how to correctly apply the brakes so they don't lock up but also how to handle the situation should it ever arise.

A Huge portion of the MSF is teaching you where the lock zone is on a bike, how to correct it and how to brake and clutch to properly ride a motorcycle...a HUGE must for a new rider to learn...preferably NOT on a public road.

YOu really do need to learn to ride a bike without crap like ABS. What happens when your next bike doesn't have it? Worse yet what happens when your ABS system fails.. ZOMG I DON'T KNOW HOW TO BRAKE WITHOUT ABS YAAAAAAAAAAR

If you are so concerned about riding a bike with ABS I'd suggest you stay away from bikes all together.
