Default 1997 zx-6r

Whats up everyone, I hate to be one to beat a dead horse but I just wanted some input from some of the more experienced riders out there on the wonderful "FIRST BIKE" topic...(yeah i know sorry fellas I'm another one of those guys).

Any way I'm looking at a 1997 Kawi Ninja 6r and was wondering if I could get some input from anyone. I have ridden motorcycles just not street bikes so I don't want to jump in over my head so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

why???? if you knew this topic has been discussed before, why did you post up again?? Was there a specific reason as to why you found it necessary to ask about a 6r? Are you already set on buying it and just came on here for confirmation or are you really going to take into consideration what we say to you?

did you read the stickies on the top of this forum?

A 1997 zx6r was a race bike back then. It still has around 100 hp and weighs as light as many ss bikes today.

and as a repetition: no, riding dirt and riding street are not the same, the main difference will be the people in cars out to kill you.

Take the MSF and I would suggest AGAINST the 6r...

In the process of deciding what bike I should get I got a chance to drive a 98' zx-6, there is no way a newb can control that, the amount of power is just amazing, I didint even take it over 6000rpm and it felt agressive and jumpy compared to the 250cc im getting.

I say, if you want to live, get a smaller bike...

a 600CC+ first bike is always a bad idea.

look at this video. Im guessing this is his first time on a big bike

WTF people? Its not like Ninja 250s and EX500s are hare to come by.
Why go out looking for the bike that isn't the proper beginner's bike only to try to get justification for it?
If you already know what you should be looking for, it shouldn't be that hard to find it. Stop looking for the "this might be the rare case" bike and just buy what's out there in abundance that you KNOW is proper.

...No, I won't - that's dumb.
