Default Have you put some serious miles on your Ninja 250?

How many of you have actually kept a Ninja 250 for more than a year and put some serious miles on it?

I'm thinking about putting my 1992 Honda CB400 Superfour up for sale locally so I can use the money to buy a new Ninja 250. My plan is to be able to travel from base to base (I'm in the Air Force) with the Ninja 250. From what little I've read it seems like this bike hasn't changed much since 1988 and parts should be plentiful around the world. If I go back to the US after my tour ends here in Okinawa then I would assume I wouldn't have any problems registering this bike.

Does this sound like an ok plan? I'm not really into the whole attitude of "I got bored riding my Ninja 250 after 1500 miles so I need a new bike". I'm hoping to be able to stay overseas and go all over europe, asia and austrailia during my military career and I just want to be able to not have to always sell the darn thing everytime I PCS (permanant change of station; possibly every 2 - 3 years).

NOTE: My background is REALLY extensive when it comes to riding a motorcycle. I've had my MSF card since 23May2007, and I've only been consistently riding since that day

Oh and for shits and giggles:

I think I could rock a Honda Big Ruckus, and probably enjoy it more. My only problem is that I don't think it would be socially acceptable riding one to work in my BDU's on base Plus the darn thing cost about twice as much as a Ninja 250.

I'm not sure I'd sell the Super Four. You're not likely to be able to get it into the states, and those are works of art on wheels. I'd suggest you just enjoy that while you can. You can get a 250 when you move back here.
