Default First street bike-- Kawi ZR-7?

Hey guys,

I was looking in the want ads and came across a 2000 ZR-7 with 19k miles for $1800/bo. I looks like a pretty good bike: not too much power but still something I can grow with. One issue I noticed was weight. It's 440 pounds dry!

Will this bike be too powerful, heavy, or difficult/dangerous to ride for me?

I'm about 5'8", 130 pounds by the way.

Thanks

76HP, I'd consider that iffy for a new rider.

I still reccommend a 250/500.

good lord 440 pounds dry?? that IS heavy!! I thought my RC was bad and its 440ish wet. yeah, i would suggest against it. A bike that heavy is difficult to do slow speed manuvers on, espeically for a new rider.

Nope. Move on with your search.
Try the term EX followed by 500 or 250.
Also try the term GS.
Also GT250R.

...No, I won't - that's dumb.

Roger that. Thanks guys.

I rode my friend's new EX250 today and it was AWESOME. I'm going to be looking for either that or an older (late 90's) EX500.

Thanks again.

Hahaha. Don't group me with those squiddy-suidical kids.

250 or 500 is plenty fast and "cool" enough. For now.

GOOD CALL on the late 90's! Avoid anything '93 or older!
