Yeah...so here in Quebec, it aint as easy as signing a peice of paper to get a motorcycle license (the rest of Canada is normal

)..
You must:
-Take a written exam. 35 multiple choice questions blah blah blah.
-Once you pass the exam, you get a "6R" permit, which allows you to ride with an approved riding school.
-Take MANDATORY classes with riding school. 2 weekends; 18 hrs in a closed course, + 4 hrs on the road (pretty similar to the MSF....I think this should be mandatory everywhere, personally).
-Once you do the courses, get an endorsement from the school and take a closed course test at the license bureau. Stuff like riding in a circle, countersteering, emergency braking etc. All stuff below 20 mph.
-If you pass this you get your 6A Learners Permit (which I got today!

). Now, this permit allows you to ride any time/any cc bike, but ONLY alongside another rider, who has 2+ experience. You MUST have this permit for at least 7 months before going for your full license

This sucks because even if you want to go for a short ride around the block, you MUST call a buddy and have him ride with you.
-After 7 months, you can take your full 6A test, which is again at the license bureau. The tester gives you a headset, and follows you in a car, giving you instructions via the headset. When you pass this test, you have your full license. If you fail, you gotta wait 56 DAYS to do it again!
Lucky for me theres a guy in my building that rides, so I'm gonna be bugging him every chance I get.
So yeah..thats my story. See you on the road! Stay safe!
