Cool Good deal and newbie recommendations?

Hi all, first time posting.

I'm looking for opinions for first bikes in the cruiser genre; and on a particular bike i'm contemplating.

It's a 1989 Honda Shadow VT1100C, blue excellent condition only 4250 miles... Just the kind of styling i'm looking for and amazing shape and mileage on this bike that runs perfectly. First the price, is $3000 a good price for this, from my research considering the miles, it seems like a good deal... I know the owner and the trust is a key element, in addition to the servicing that he could do on the bike if needed. Secondly the ease of use, would you consider this to be a good bike to start out on?

Any opinions would be appreciated!

KBB is $2640, so a little high but low mileage. And knowing its history and trusting the seller is important, to me anyway

Why do you think an 1100 is a good choice for a starter bike?

As far as a cruiser being safer, actually they are now crashing at a far higher rate and older riders buying cruisers are getting killed at a much higher clip.

So, my suggestion would be to look at a smaller standard bike or a smaller cruiser at first before you jump to a larger bike.
