Talking Got my first bike and im FREAKIN STOKED!

Hello everyone after months of research and searching i finally purchased my first bike 2004 Suzuki SV650S. I have drove it the past two days (one ride home from work in the rain) and have put about 200 miles on the bike already. I have about two seasons of dirtbike experience (03 KX250) but street is 100X better than dirt. I originally was planning on purcashing a Honda 600f4i but decided against it after reading a TON of posts on this site. All my buddies were makin fun of me for not getting a 600SS but its all good because I LOVE IT, so F**K em. I believe this bike is great for a beginner (to be quite honest i probably would have been disappoited to start on something smaller *im 6'0 190lbs*). I read some of the new riders posts where people posted "welcome to your new addiction". To be honest i thought that saying was kind of dumb until i began riding and ITS TRUE. All my friends still say "your going to wish you got a 600 in about two weeks" but im not out trying to race or drive like a moron (like they do). Because of the way they ride, i plan on not riding with them for a while (SO if your into cruisin and you live in SOCAL hit me up so we can ride). Anyways, i just ordered the lower fairings so it looks like a full fairing bike. I have the next four days off so hopefully ill put another 400 miles on the bike .
Be safe everyone and Godspeed.

*by the way I did not post this to go against the people that believe everyone should start on a 250 or 500, this is just my opinion. EVERYONE that has posted that has WAY more experience than me, so take it for what its worth*

congrats on the new bike. Some people will say a 650 makes a fine starter bike, so no problem. Post up some pics when you can pry yourself off of it long enough

If you are willing to come down to El Cajon, House of Motorcycles has a beginners group ride about once a month and they are some really cool people. Many of them are experienced and like to do a slow take it easy kind of ride to help us beginners. Chris (in parts) should be able to answer your questions about it. Oh and if you have taken your MSF course they will give you a small discount if you buy anything there.

Congrats bro. I also have a sv650s as a starter bike If you want it to sound meaner and not buy a slip on check this article out. It is quite easy to do and the difference is amazing. About 10 bux too.

I too started on a SV650s. Picked it up about a month ago and can't stop riding. For the love of god get a new pipe. I did and it sounds and feels so much better.

My baby...
