Since you have experience with dirt bikes, I'd say you really dont need to start on the 250. I'm sure that you will quickly get bored with it. Although, if you do go that route and buy a used 250, you can probably end up selling it for just as much as you paid after riding it for a few months. My reccomendations [as far as new bikes go] would be the Kawi Ninja 500 or Suzuki GS500F. If you decide to forego everyone's advice of starting small, I'd look into the 650cc twins made by suzuki and kawasaki.

I'm 6'3" and 230lbs, so I immediately ruled out the 250 just because of my weight. For your size, I wouldn't let that concern you. I considered the 500's, but still ended up going a little bigger. I bought an '06 SV650S in May as my first-ever motorcycle. During the first week and a half, I did feel as though it was too much bike for me, but quickly got accustomed to it. Now, three months down the road, I've put 6000 miles on the thing, and I'm selling it to buy a new daytona 675. Had I known I'd upgrade so soon, I probably would have gone used instead, but honestly I could not be more happy that I started out on something a little more tame than most people do these days. As a result of me being completely in-tune with my bike, and not the least bit intimidated by it, none of my friends on supersport 600's and liter bikes can keep up with me through the turns.

He feels comfortable on all those bikes so he thinks hes capable of ridin' a 600RR. But of course hes gonna try to do wheelies on that CBR600RR so he wants to know if its much differant from a KX125 (Dirtbike) & the acceration differance. He never tryed to wheelie on a street bike before and he is probably gonna kill himself trying to. So he wants to know is it differant to wheelie on a dirtbike than a street bike.

You have to be able to ride the bike, before you can stunt it or track ride it. And that takes months of time to get comfortable on your bike and years of riding to get to the levels you see the pro stunt rides ability.

What sport bike have you riden, not dirt bikes, sport bikes. And i don't mean up and down the block in a straight line. I mean turns and curves and traffic, etc. Unless you have riden a 250 or 500 in real world conditions you have no idea if the bike is "not right for you."

I have met a few good stunt riders, they all do the same things. Started small because it was easier to manuver a lighter bike and gave some forgiveness when you F*** up. Most of them bought a used bike after a few years of riding and moded it out to a stunt bike so the don't wreck their only bike. It is just you luck to tweak your bike in may and loss a whole season of riding waiting to fix your bike. Alot of them are big, strong guys too. It is alot of work to lift a 500lb bike and move it around over and over again.

Yeah 250's look silly, but they are cheap used. You could pick one up and used the winter to trick it out to a stunt bike.

Look at it this way, you will have a bike........alot more than most your age. My first car was a POS, but it was mine. I had alot more fun with that old beat up 4x4 truck than if I had bought a new one.

The guys here are really cool and will tell it to you straight.

Did you not listen to anything in this thread?

Watch these two vids...The first is a noob on a liter bike...It's a prime example of how quickly a big cc bike can get away from you and possibly cause major damage...Imagine what'd happen if he had done that somewhere other than a parking lot...

The second vid is a stock 600...Notice his top MPH...Not something I'd recommend to a new rider...At least not if I liked him...

Dude take everyones advice on here. They are not tring to make you look stupid. You are making yourself look stupid!!!!!!!Start small..If your in a coffin,no one is going to care what size bike you were riding..Not tring to be a prick,we are just tring to stop you from hurting yourself from something that could have been avoided.
