Does Carfax run motorcycle VIN #'s?

I am trying to look at the history of a bike just to make sure everything checks out. I tried to run it though carfax and it says the number doesnt exist. So did the guy send me the wrong VIN or does carfax not accecpt bike #'s.

First off, how many charachters is a bike vin?

I dont think carfax does bikes honestly. Also do bikes require inspection or anything? also I dont think bikes constitute enough of the market to make it worthwhile to catalog the inspections, mileages, and owners and etc.

If you want to know owner history actually, the DMV should be able to help you.
